Publees was not born in a sterile tech lab. It was forged where the heart of the press beats: inside the printing presses, amid last-minute editorial revisions, and at the intake desks of the country's largest newspapers.
The first platform in Greece to bring public notices online, replacing outdated fax workflows and physical ad agencies.
A core engine overhaul tailored for B2B velocity, instantaneous live quoting, and a successful launch into the Cyprus market.
Our most advanced deployment yet. Fine-tuned AI & OCR, lightning-fast Reactive Live Preview, and smart calendar engines for guaranteed placement.
In 1994, at just 18 years old, the founder of Publees, A. Lykoudis, began his career at the IMERISIA financial newspaper (Bobolas Media Group). His daily mission? Transferring handwritten balance sheets, corporate blueprints, and statutory notices from central Athens to the printing facilities in Chalandri, operating under strict, unyielding statutory deadlines.
Mastering the workflow from the ground up, he quickly advanced to text ingestion, data entry, and legal compliance audits for press placements, later continuing his career at ETHNOS newspaper. In 2000, he became an official member of EPHIEA (Athens Daily Newspaper Personnel Union) — an institutional credential he maintains active to this day, 26 years later.
His innovative drive surfaced early: In 2002, while at ELEFTHERI ORA newspaper, he pioneered the integration of FTP servers to streamline digital ad copy workflows from creative agencies — a solution subsequently adopted industry-wide — while simultaneously serving as Junior Project Manager for the development of the newspaper's custom ERP/CRM engine.
Anticipating global shifting trends, in 2008 he initiated remote fulfillment workflows via email for time-sensitive public notices (marriage notices, obituaries, judicial acts). The response from individuals and legal entities was overwhelming.
In December 2010, Publees was officially incorporated, establishing the first online platform for institutional and social press publications in Greece. By 2011, the service permanently reshaped public notice management, and between 2015-2017, Publees successfully expanded its operational footprint into the Cyprus market.
"Getting married? Want to easily place your wedding notice? There is a trick for that!" noted the tech portal Techinsider.gr back in September 2011, highlighting Publees as a disruptive digital solution for couples ready to tie the knot.
Following 16 years of continuous deployment and having facilitated over 200,000 clients, we realized that the market was stagnant, relying on outdated administrative methods. In June 2025, we made a major decision: to digitize 32 years of compounded operational expertise.
We audited over 140,000 historical texts, mapped out the most frequent human data-entry errors (such as missing municipality parameters in marriage filings), and meticulously indexed the deterministic constraints of all 84 broadsheets we support. The result is version v2.34.3:
Because it marries high-velocity AI processing with human oversight. Every text submitted, after clearing our smart verification algorithms, undergoes physical review by our seasoned copy editors before hitting the press room. This guarantees 100% expense eligibility and legally sound disclosures.
Our vision centers on eliminating administrative friction from compliance and social notices. Operating under a modern, international SaaS framework, we continuously reinvest in cutting-edge digital infrastructure, offering our B2B partners maximum engineering uptime, total cost transparency, and the most optimized pricing architecture in the industry.
