Cancellations & Refunds

Last updated: 01 July 2026

This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains when an order placed through Publees.com may be cancelled, when a refund may be issued, and which cases may be excluded due to the nature of the service.

Publees.com provides intermediary services for publications in print and/or digital media, including, indicatively, wedding announcements, obituary and memorial notices, legal and judicial publications, association announcements, general meeting notices, social notices, advertising placements, and other related publications.

These services are generally customised and are performed based on the information, text, publication date, publication medium, and options submitted by the user.

1. Cancellation before completing an order

You may stop the order process at any time before final submission and payment.

If payment has not been completed or the order has not been confirmed, the order will not be forwarded for fulfilment.

2. Cancellation after completing an order

After an order has been completed, you may request cancellation by contacting Publees immediately through the Contact page or through the contact details published from time to time on the website.

Whether cancellation is possible depends on:

a) the type of publication,
b) the publication date,
c) the medium selected for publication,
d) the stage of fulfilment of the order,
e) whether the order has already been forwarded to the publication medium,
f) whether the publication medium has already started typesetting, technical processing, placement, or publication,
g) the specific cancellation rules or deadlines of the relevant publication medium.

Publees will review each cancellation request based on the actual status of the order and will inform you whether cancellation is possible and whether a full or partial refund may apply.

3. Cancellation deadlines

For social, legal, judicial, and other notices, as well as general meeting invitations, cancellation may be accepted only if requested in time and provided that the order has not already been finally forwarded to the publication medium or that the medium has not already started irreversible work.

As a general rule, cancellation requests must be submitted no later than 12:00 noon on the previous business day before the scheduled publication.

If an order is placed after 12:00 noon, or if it relates to publication on a weekend or public holiday, the available cancellation window may be limited.

Orders submitted after 12:00 noon on Friday, on Saturday, on Sunday, or on public holidays may be forwarded to the first available business day of the relevant publication medium, in accordance with that medium’s operating rules.

For advertising placements, cancellation may be accepted only if requested within the required time before publication, as determined by Publees or by the relevant publication medium. In some cases, several days’ advance notice may be required before the scheduled publication date.

4. Cases where cancellation may not be possible

Cancellation may not be possible, in whole or in part, where:

a) the publication has already taken place,
b) the order has already been finally forwarded to the publication medium,
c) the publication medium has already started typesetting, technical processing, placement, or other irreversible work,
d) the cost has already been committed or paid to the publication medium,
e) the service has already been fully or substantially performed,
f) the order concerns a customised publication created based on information, text, or instructions provided by the user,
g) copies have already been dispatched or their dispatch has already been scheduled and cannot be recalled.

In such cases, Publees may refuse cancellation or may offer only a partial refund, where this is feasible and fair based on the stage of fulfilment of the order.

5. Refunds

A refund may be issued where:

a) the order is cancelled in time and before irreversible work has started,
b) Publees is unable to fulfil the order for a reason not attributable to the user,
c) there is an obvious technical or pricing error,
d) a duplicate payment has been made,
e) a payment has been incorrectly matched or relates to an order that was not completed,
f) Publees agrees to a refund after reviewing the specific case.

A refund may be full or partial, depending on the stage of fulfilment of the order, any costs already incurred, any amounts already paid to third-party providers or publication media, and the nature of the service.

6. Cases where refunds may not be available

A refund may not be available where:

a) the publication has already taken place,
b) the text or details were published as submitted or approved by the user,
c) the error was caused by inaccurate, incomplete, or incorrect information entered by the user,
d) the user requested a correction after the applicable deadline,
e) the publication medium has already started or completed typesetting or placement,
f) the delay or inability to publish was caused by a force majeure event or by an act or omission of a third-party publication medium outside Publees’ reasonable control,
g) the cost relates to a customised service that has already been provided,
h) copies have already been dispatched or have already been purchased/reserved specifically for the order, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Nothing in this Policy limits any rights granted to the user by mandatory consumer protection laws or other applicable legal provisions.

7. Corrections instead of cancellation

In many cases, if you identify an error in the text or order details, the appropriate action may be a correction rather than cancellation.

For corrections, additions, or deletions after the order has been submitted, you must contact Publees immediately.

As a general rule, corrections may be requested no later than 12:00 noon on the previous business day before the scheduled publication, or by the last business day before publication if the publication is scheduled for a weekend or public holiday.

Publees will make reasonable efforts to forward corrections in time, but does not guarantee that any change will be accepted or incorporated if requested late or if the publication medium has already started irreversible work.

The user is responsible for checking the text, publication date, publication medium, publication details, and contact details before final submission of the order.

8. Non-publication or delayed publication

Publees makes reasonable efforts to forward each order correctly to the selected publication medium.

However, Publees is not liable for delayed publication or non-publication caused by:

a) strikes, public holidays, or interruption of publication medium operations,
b) changes to newspaper edition or circulation schedules,
c) technical issues affecting third-party publication media,
d) errors or omissions by third-party providers,
e) extreme weather events or other force majeure events,
f) late submission of an order or correction,
g) late payment confirmation,
h) inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the user.

If an issue is brought to Publees’ attention in time, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the publication medium and the user, provide an update, and, where feasible, suggest a new available date or another appropriate solution.

9. Dispatch of copies and refunds

The dispatch of newspaper copies or other printed materials is an additional service, where available and selected by the user.

Dispatch of copies depends on the availability of the publication medium, circulation timing, delivery location, the cooperating courier or postal provider, and the specific transport conditions.

A delay in delivery by a courier, postal service, or third-party transport provider does not automatically create a right to cancel the publication or to receive a refund of the publication cost.

If the issue relates only to the dispatch of copies, Publees will review the request based on the actual circumstances and may, where appropriate, offer a new dispatch, a refund of the delivery cost, or another reasonable solution, provided that the issue is within Publees’ control.

Publees is not liable for delay or inability to deliver caused by incorrect delivery details, absence of the recipient, remote delivery areas, public holidays, strikes, customs procedures, or acts or omissions of third-party transport providers.

10. How to request cancellation or a refund

To request cancellation or a refund, please contact Publees through the Contact page or through the contact details published from time to time on the website.

To help us handle your request faster, we may ask you to provide:

a) order number,
b) full name or company name,
c) contact email or telephone number,
d) order date,
e) publication medium and publication date,
f) reason for cancellation or refund,
g) payment details, without full card details.

Please do not send us full card details, such as the full card number or CVV.

11. Refund method and timing

When a refund is approved, it is generally made through the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless otherwise agreed or unless the payment method does not allow it.

The time required for the refund to appear in your account, card, or electronic wallet depends on the payment provider, bank, banking network, or payment method used.

Publees does not control the time required by third-party providers or banks for the refund to appear in your account.

12. Relationship with other policies

This Cancellation & Refund Policy should be read together with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Payment Methods / Payment Policy, and any other relevant policy published on the website.

In the event of a conflict between this Policy and specific terms displayed during checkout or for a particular service, the specific terms will prevail, provided that they were clearly presented to the user before submission of the order and do not violate applicable law.

13. Contact

For any question regarding cancellation, refunds, text corrections, non-publication, or dispatch of copies, you may contact Publees through the Contact page of the website or through the contact details published from time to time on the website.
